Name
Ensuring Regulatory Compliance and Chemical Safety of PCR Plastics for Food Packaging
Description

Government approval of the ability of a recycling process to remove potentially harmful contaminants is required to use PCR plastics in food contact materials such as food packaging. However, this is just a snapshot of compliance; an ongoing quality control procedure is critical to ensuring ongoing compliance and chemical safety of PCR plastics. This presentation will provide an overview of the regulatory requirements applicable to post-consumer recycled plastics intended to be used in food packaging and what to consider when developing an ongoing quality control procedure.
