Scott has served as President of the Glass Packaging Institute (GPI), the trade association for the North American glass container manufacturing industry and its supply chain partners, for five years.  He also serves as the President of the Board of the Glass Recycling Foundation and on the leadership committee of the Glass Recycling Coalition.  Recently he was chosen to serve on the Board of the Recycling Partnership. 

Scott has many years in national and international trade association leadership positions.  Prior to becoming a leading voice for the glass container and recycling industry, Scott served as Vice-President of Government Affairs for the Plastics Industry Association and as EVP for Government Affairs and Communications for the National Restaurant Association. He also served as the Senior Managing Director of Government Affairs for the Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association (SIFMA).

Prior to his work in the food/beverage and packaging arenas, Scott spent the first part of his career as a legislative aide in federal and state government, working as staff at the highest levels of the US House of Representatives, with a focus on energy, environment, economic and financial policy, and with Governors and State Legislatures.

Scott is from Houston, Texas, graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with degrees in Communications and Public Affairs, and resides in Arlington, Virginia with his wife and son.
